Delaney King lecturing in New Zealand

About

With over 25 years in the industry, several AAA games of the year and clients including Autodesk, The Foundry, Animal Logic, Ubisoft, Weta and many more, Delaney King has a treasure trove of knowledge and experience to share.

Delaney has been Art Director and Lead Artist at studios such as Rocksteady Games, Tantalus, Microforte (now Wargames.net) and has been game development consultant and software specialist for Autodesk in the Asia Pascific, where she helped develop game art pipelines and design documents. She has also worked as a freelance technical, general and character artist in many game studios, both AAA and indy, and is infamous for her ‘from the trenches’ talks at GDC, SIGGRAPH, AGDC, NZGDC and many more. Her works include Dragonage:Origins, Unreal Tournament ‘04, Dungeons & Dragons Online: Stormreach, God of War: Chains of Olympus and Civilization IV. She also worked in VFX on several films including Where The Wild Things Are.

She now acts as a consultant and freelance technical artist for studios, and has a passion for helping indy studios reach their goals by working smarter, not harder. [Make an Enquiry}

Delaney has been touring the world, teaching her craft for decades. She has worked for many schools, including AFTRS (Australian Film Television and Radio School), CGSpectrum and was a founding member of the Australian 3D education system, penning the first ever curriculum for 3D artists. She adores visiting schools and helping to inspire the next generation of game designers and artists.
